Welcome to our Charcoal Grill Japanese Sake Bar, a modern Japanese dining den specialising in fresh, flavoursome, and authentic creations using our chef’s selection of high quality ingredients. Located in the heart of the Gold Coast, we take pride in offering the most extensive selection of Japanese sake in the area. Our carefully curated sake menu features a variety of options, from light and fruity to rich and full-bodied, ensuring there’s something for every palate.

But our offerings don’t stop at sake. We also serve Asahi beer on tap, the locally beloved No Carb Big Head beer, as well as an impressive selection of shochu, plum wine, cocktails and highballs.

INSPIRED BY TRADITION

Our Izakaya takes its name from one of Japan’s most traditional and iconic spiritual events, held in Kyoto on the evening of August 16th.

During the Obon festival — a time when Japanese people honour the spirits of their ancestors — majestic bonfires are lit on five mountains to guide these spirits back to the afterlife. This stunning display blends ancient tradition, nature, and the cultural heritage of Kyoto, creating a truly magical and spiritual atmosphere.

“GOZAN” refers to the five mountains surrounding Kyoto, where this sacred event unfolds 🗻🔥
